How we collect, store, and handle the information you share with us.
Atelier Build Co. (ABN 55 674 917 161) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information in a manner that complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy sets out what information we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and your rights in relation to it.
What we collect
We collect only the information you voluntarily provide to us. This is typically submitted through our enquiry form or by emailing or calling us directly. It may include:
- Your full name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your project location or address
- A description of the project you are considering
- Any other information you choose to include in your correspondence
We do not collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
Why we collect it
We collect your information for one reason: to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss, prepare for, and carry out the building project you have engaged us for. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Reply to your initial enquiry within one working day
- Arrange site visits, consultations, or meetings
- Prepare quotes, contracts, and construction documentation
- Communicate with you during the course of a live project
We do not use your information for marketing, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
How we store it
Enquiries submitted through the website are processed via Formspree, a third-party form delivery service, and are then delivered to our business email. Formspree is located outside Australia and handles your submission in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Once an enquiry is received, your information is stored in our business email system and, where relevant, in our project management records. We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the services you have engaged us for, plus the period required by Australian tax and construction law (typically seven years).
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. In limited circumstances, and only where necessary to deliver a project, we may share relevant information with:
- Our project collaborators (designers and subcontractors)
- Professional advisers (our accountant, lawyer, or insurer)
- Government bodies where required by law (for example, council building approvals)
Where we share information, we share only what is necessary for the specific purpose.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use cookies or third-party analytics. Should we introduce analytics in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect that, and no personally identifying tracking will be implemented without a clear notice.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act and the APPs, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Request deletion of your information, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it
- Withdraw consent to further communication at any time

Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first — we take such concerns seriously and will work with you to resolve them promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to any active clients directly.
